Week 9 Wrapup

Summary

Week 9 is officially in the books and we’ve got ourselves a classic case of “Back to Reality” meets “Finally Got It Together!” Let’s dive right in!

Nick M FINALLY put together a LEGITIMATE performance with 136.2 points, beating Nick H’s very respectable 119.36! Nick M, THIS is what we’ve been waiting for all season! You’ve been backing into wins with garbage scores for weeks, but this week you actually EARNED it! You put up a monster performance and proved you’re not just lucky, you can actually PLAY! Nick H has to be kicking himself though—119 points is a solid showing that wins most matchups, but not this week. That’s fantasy football—sometimes you play well and still lose!

Chris continued his late-season surge with 122.16, taking down Bill’s 110.52 in a matchup where both guys actually showed up to play. Chris is looking like a completely different team than the disaster we saw in Weeks 1-3—it’s like watching someone finally figure out how to ride a bike after falling off twenty times! Bill’s descent from his early hot streak is complete—from 140 points a few weeks ago to barely breaking 110. That’s what we call regression to the mean, folks!

Tyler kept rolling with 121.7, beating Lee’s 106.52 in a workmanlike win that gets the job done. Nothing flashy, nothing fancy, just solid football. Meanwhile, David FINALLY got himself a win, putting up 119.24 to beat Alan’s 97.02. David, you’ve been suffering for weeks, but you picked the perfect time to show up because Alan apparently forgot how to play fantasy football! Alan, you went from 168 points two weeks ago to 97 this week—that’s not a slump, that’s falling off a cliff!

And then we have Trevor, who somehow—SOMEHOW—managed to squeeze out a win over Brian 115.04 to 108.9. Trevor got LUCKY as hell because both of these scores are mediocre at best, but someone had to win and Trevor, congratulations on backing into this one! Brian has to be frustrated because 109 points should be enough, but not against Trevor’s slightly-less-terrible 115!

So let’s give it up for Nick M for finally putting together a REAL performance, and to Chris for continuing his hot streak! Everyone else—well, there’s always next week! - Fake Commish
