Summary

Week 3 delivered the closest kind of gut-punch imaginable - a game legitimately lost on the bench - along with some serious tier separation at the bottom of this league.

The Blounts Don’t Let ‘Em Breathe

Chris beat Lee 107.6 to 88.14 to move to 2-1, getting a strong game from Matthew Stafford (26.4) after last week’s disaster. Lee’s Jonathan Taylor, who was the best player on his team a week ago, completely vanished with 8.2 points on a nearly-20-point projection, and Patrick Mahomes wasn’t much better, finishing under his own projection too. Lee is now 1-2 and searching for consistency from a roster that looked like a contender on paper.

Mayor Seizes Pledgecobar

Bill continued his strong start, blasting Nick H 146.44 to 99.82 behind another huge Jahmyr Gibbs game (35.9 points). Nick H’s two-week video game run finally came crashing down - Josh Allen, who’d combined for over 84 points the first two weeks, cratered to 15.16 - and Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s 32.56 wasn’t nearly enough to bail him out. Pablo Pledgecobar goes from best team in the league to 2-1 in the span of one bad quarterback week - that’s fantasy football for you.

They Tookerrr Jobs, Then Fired Themselves

This one should absolutely haunt Alan. Brian survived 126.28 to 120.4, but Alan lost this game with his own lineup card: he started Travis Kelce, who managed 12.9 points, while Harold Fannin Jr. put up 20.6 on his bench. Swap those two and Alan wins by nearly two points. Alan, that’s a brutal tight end situation, and it just cost you a win you very much deserved to have. Brian, for what it’s worth, is quietly building his own problem - Malik Nabers busted again with 5.1 points while Jordan Addison dropped 19.5 on the bench, the same story as last week with a different name.

Joey Freshwater Squeezes the Bradys

Tyler beat up David 126.6 to 97.88 behind a monster bounce-back game from Bijan Robinson (34.3, after last week’s dud). David actually had a great individual day from Brock Purdy (35.08), but De’Von Achane no-showed again with 1.7 points, and the rest of the roster simply couldn’t keep up. Tyler, meanwhile, is now sitting Chuba Hubbard behind Breece Hall for the second time in three weeks, and for the second time, Hubbard outscored him - at some point that stops being a coincidence and starts being a pattern.

Normous Crushing of the Quitters

And finally, the week’s biggest wipeout: Trevor demolished Nick M 151.38 to 68.72 behind a strong Joe Burrow game (27.28), while Nick M’s Jalen Hurts came back down to earth hard, scoring 12.92 on a 22.4 projection. Trevor also continues to have a Christian Watson problem of his own, benching a 19.1-point game in favor of George Pickens for the second time in three weeks - it hasn’t cost him yet, but a blowout win has a way of hiding lineup mistakes.

Three weeks in, and this league has real separation: Nick H and Bill are trading haymakers at the top, Nick M and David are in trouble at the bottom, and more than one of you needs to have a serious talk with yourself about who’s starting on Sundays. See you next week. - Fake Commish
